On-Site vs Off-Site: Which one
is best for our business?
At
shredEX, our
recommendation is to select Plant (Off-site)
services, as it provides better pricing, and the same
(if not better) security than mobile shredding. It's a
common misconception that on-site shredding is better for security. In
actuality, if the mobile shredding unit is conducting the
document destruction on-site, your documents could be
exposed for a greater time around the public, depending upon
the amount of documents that need to be shredded.
For clients which require immediate shredding and extended
security, we offer two options: mobile shredding, where
our trucks equipped with shredding units will pickup your
documents and shred them on-site, or leasing one of our
durable shredding units, and conduct the shredding in-house.

How often should we schedule
pickups?
shredEX
provides our clients with secured consoles for documents,
and you should contact us to schedule a pickup once the bin
is 80% full. In most cases, clients request (or
schedule) a pickup every 4 weeks.
For long-term clients, we can schedule automatic bi-weekly
pickups, ensuring that documents are destroyed in an
expeditious manner, on a regular basis.

 |
What happens if we need additional
pickups, apart from our scheduled times?
Simply contact us at
info@shredex.ca or
request a pickup online,
and we'll send personnel to pickup your documents within
24-48 hours. |

How much does shredding
costs?
Definitely less than costs of a disastrous breach
of confidentiality!
shredEX
pricing is based on a per pound basis, at very competitive
rates. We also offer discounts based on the periodic
volume generated by each client.

The most cost-effective program shredEX offers is the
Extended Premium Service, which is bi-weekly, and
documents are picked up either after 6pm
or on Saturday mornings. With
this program, you'll save up to 30%
on your costs!

How much does shredding
costs?
Could they? Yes. Should they? NO.
Sensitive material such as payroll information, employee
information and legal information should not be entrusted to
employees to destroy. In addition, standard office shredders
do not have the capacity to shred substantial amounts of
paper and other material. They average about 10 documents at
a time and all paper clips, binder clips, rubber bands, etc.
must be removed. What’s more, they constantly jam. Our
shredder is 30-50 times faster.
In a nutshell, legal liability, security, privacy issues,
employee theft, identity theft, corporate and industrial
espionage and the costs associated with running your own
shredding operation make it risky. Since the objective of
shredding information is to reduce risk, it just does not
make sense to do it in-house.

Do we have to remove paper clips,
staples, rubberbands?
NO.
shredEX machinery has powerful shredding knives
which can cut through paperclips, staples and even 3-ring
binders.
